Dr. Sonali Katoch joined CCS National Institute of Agricultural Marketing, Jaipur, in July 2024. She holds a Ph.D. in Agricultural Economics from Banaras Hindu University and is an alumna of CSK Himachal Pradesh Krishi Vishvavidyalaya, Palampur, and Dr. YS Parmar University of Horticulture and Forestry, Solan. Before joining NIAM, Dr. Sonali worked as a Research Analyst at the International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI), South Asia Office, New Delhi. During her Ph.D., she also worked as a Young Professional - II in the project “Impact of Agricultural Marketing Reforms on Market Integration and Farmers' Income: The Case of Eastern Uttar Pradesh” under UPCAR. Dr. Sonali is an accredited Master Trainer under the decentralized training framework of the CSS for the Formation and Promotion of 10,000 FPOs Scheme, Government of India. Her doctoral thesis, titled “Analysis of Marketing Efficiency and Trade Competitiveness of Tomato, Onion, and Potato in India,” earned her multiple accolades, including the Best Ph.D. Presentation Award from the Indian Society of Agricultural Economics, R.T. Doshi Award of Best Presentation from the Agricultural Economics Research Association, and the Memorial Trust Award from the Indian Society of Agricultural Marketing. She has authored over 15 research papers and book chapters in national and international journals.
